These telegrams were received by Malcolm’s parents, Willie & Eileen, at estancia “La California” (Las Rosas, SFé) between December '41 and July ’45. Telegrams were the fastest means of communication, and messages were charged by the number of words (including the word "STOP" for a period ending a sentence.) The telegrams were likely collected & saved by Eileen.
Note re Gap: No telegrams were received from or about Malcolm during his time as a POW in Italy. Last before: 2 NOV 42 – first after: 9 NOV 43.

These press cuttings were collected by Eileen, Malcolm’s stepmother. All except two are from a variety of Argentine newspapers:
The exceptions are from the “Union Jack” (a newspaper for the British Fighting Forces), and “The Champaign Shout” (a newspaper of the Phi Delta Theta social fraternity at the Univerity of Illinois, of which Malcolm had been a member).
