Auntie Olga's Album
Photo Album Nº 1

The album contains a collection of photos taken by Alfred (he had his own camera) and others, particularly by his brother John (an avid photographer). It also includes photos taken after his death (1937). The photos are not in exact date order, and few are labelled. Where we could, we identified locations, estimated dates (ca.), and identified photographers.

We have restored the photos by removing the more annoying scratches and dots, and resetting the color as seems appropriate, usually to black and white (most have faded with yellow or brown tints). The photos are glued to the pages; the glue has caused dimples which appear as shadows in the scanned images, particularly noticeable in skies — as a result, we “smoothed” the sky in many of the photos.
