Alfred A. Benitz & Olga B. Horner | Page last modified: |
|
This album contains a collection of photos taken by Alfred (he had his own camera) and others, particularly by his brother John (an avid photographer). We placed loose photos (inserts) first for none were relevant to the pages where found. Where we could, we identified people, locations, estimated dates (e.g. ca.1905 = 1900-1909; photos appear to be in broad date sequence), and identified photographers. We have restored the photos by removing tares, scratches & dots, smudges & fingerprints, and resetting the color as seems appropriate, either to black and white or dark-brown and white (most have faded with yellow or brown tints). John E. Benitz (JEBz) had his own dark-room and appears to have developed his photos in shades of dark brown. Most of his photos have duplicates in his albums.
We are very grateful to David Horner for kindly allowing us to copy the photos (during the Benitz-2020 reunion in La Cumbre!).
