John Alfred Bell, better known as Jack Bell, was born into one of several Bell families established in Argentina during the 19th century. His paternal great-great-grandparents, George Bell and Isabella Watson, were both from Scotland – they married in Buenos Aires on 22 May 1837.
Burials: The St. Andrew’s Scots PresbyterianChurch in downtown Buenos Aires keeps a record of its parishoners. Currently (Jan.2019), the church burial records available on-line (via the Arg-Brit website) do not provide the actual place of burial, just that the person was buried. By Argentine law burial should take place within 24 hours of death.
