Note: with an unstable government in power (Peron), land prices were depressed, consequently John likely sold for far less than its true value. Adjusted for inflation to 2022, he probably sold for U$D 600-700 per hectare. In 2022 good land in the same department of Union sold for as much as $19,500 per hectare. Today, Union is prized for soybeans, a valuable crop not sown in Argentina in the 1950s. |
