Reference Pages: Initials, Names, Terminology
This is Audrey’s second photo album that have come down to us. (Note: I thought I had 3 albums, but one turned out to be my mother’s - see: Gertie at top of this page.) Audrey labelled the first photos in this album and identified most people in them - until ca.1929. Sadly, she did not label the more recent photos. We will need assistance identifying people & places!!
The album contains 57 pages of photos and 4 unattached photos (The were more unattached, but we were
able to fit several to sets of empty photo-corner-stickers.).
The photos begin in 1926 and end in about 1942-1943. The photos are in approximate date order, and each page typically
focuses on one event or subject. Most photos are undamaged and required little repair beyond selectively erasing spots, and:
(1) finger-prints - most are not noticeable unless the photo is greatly magnified, e.g. see 07-G below;
(2) worm tracks: – black or very dark areas of several photos are stained with meandering worm tracks (possibly from silver-fish: Lepisma saccharinum).
